This website aims to be the definitive resource on one of J.S. Bach's most fascinating and beautiful works: the final unfinished fugue from The Art of the Fugue, also known as Fuga a 3 Soggetti or Contrapunctus XIV.

From its structure, including the BACH motif at the beginning of the third subject, to its abrupt ending at measure 239, there is much to learn about this work and the circumstances of its composition.

Over the years, many musicians have studied it and proposed completions, many of which include a final fourth subject. We will try to reference all these works, as well as the many novel completions thay may arise in the era of Generative AI.
